Justrite® Can Keep You Safe!

Flammable liquids such as fuels, chemicals, and solvents can be found in most businesses. Yet, some may not realize how dangerous these can be if certain safety standards are not followed. For example, just one gallon of vaporized gasoline can explode with the same force as twenty sticks of dynamite. However, with proper precautions taken when handling hazardous liquids, including storing them in safety cans and containers, the chances of accidents like these happening can be reduced.

Justrite® offers many different safety cans and accessories to ensure their customers can stay safe and reduce risks. All of their safety cans and containers meet NFPA and OSHA standards and most are also FM Global approved and/or Underwriters Laboratories listed. Additionally, many models carry worldwide acceptance with TUV certification. Not only do Justrite® safety cans reduce risks of explosions and fires and provide compliance with OSHA regulations and fire codes, but they also improve efficiency due to their ease-of-use features that enhance pouring and filling operations. Keep reading to learn more about their many different options and features.

Types of Justrite® Safety Cans and Containers

Type I Safety Cans – Justrite® Type I safety cans are manufactured out of a powder-coated 24-guage galvanized steel that resists solvents and chemicals and stands up to abuse. Reinforcing ribs strengthen the steel walls to further resist denting or implosion and double lock seams at the base and top offer extra “bumper guard” protection. They feature self-closing, leakproof lids to help protect against escaping vapors and spills. A positive-pressure relief cap guards against ruptures and explosions by automatically venting.

Type II Safety Cans – Justrite® Type II safety cans are also powder-coated to help resist chemicals with a vented design to enhance smooth liquid flow. The additional AccuFlow manifold with Safe-Squeeze® trigger creates a safe and controlled pour. These cans feature two openings – one fit with a long metal hose for easy targeted pouring, and the other with an ergonomic lift-lever for filling.

Type II DOT Safety Cans – Justrite® Type II DOT (Department of Transportation) safety cans feature all the benefits of the original Type II safety cans with additional features to provide compliance when transporting flammable liquids on the road. Heavy duty roll bars help to protect the spout from damage and guards against dangerous fuel spillage. An easy-to-grasp tightening screw allows you to engage the hold-down bracket when traveling to further help protect against vapor release and spills.

Waste Disposal Safety Containers – Justrite® Waste Disposable safety containers are designed to encourage safe disposal of oil-soaked rags and cloths, combustible trash and wastepaper in order to prevent the spread of fires caused by stray sparks or spontaneous combustion. A self-closing lid stays closed when not in use to limit the amount of oxygen and to protect contents from fire sources and a foot pedal provides hands free opening. Additionally, these cans have a round design and elevated base that allows air to circulate around the can to disperse heat and reduce moisture build-up.

Plastic Safety Cans – Justrite® Type I Plastic safety cans are made of chemical-resistant HDPE to offer safe storage for flammable corrosives. They feature a self-closing cap, pressure-relief mechanism, and flame arrester to prevent ignition sources to enter the can without inhibiting the flow.

HPLC and Chemical Containers – Justrite® HPLC and Chemical disposable containers are the environmentally-friendly solution to waste collection. They feature quick-disconnect fittings to eliminate back pressure in the liquid disposal line and prevent leaks, drips, or vapor release and coalescing carbon filters to control odors.

Laboratory Carboys & Solvent Waste Systems – The Justrite® Laboratory Carboys and Solvent Waste Systems are used to collect HPLC waste or store, transfer, and dispose of chemicals. They feature interchangeable caps and adapters to provide top connection flexibility and an ergonomic design that makes it easy to store, lift, and pour.

Surface and Parts Cleaner – Justrite® Safety Plunger cans make it easy and safe to release small amounts of liquid directly onto work surfaces or into lab beakers. The smart-pump brings liquid to the top to conveniently dampen cleaning cloths. This pump also leaves less liquid in the bottom before needing to be refilled.

Parts & Accessories – Justrite® also has many different parts and accessories available for their safety cans to ensure continued safety and functionality. Some of the different parts available include replacement nozzle hoses, spouts, funnels, flame arresters, gaskets, and more.
