Kyorene® - Stronger than Steel

What if I told you the strongest material every measured in the world only had the density of baking soda? Seems pretty impossible, right? That’s exactly what you might think when you learn about all the capabilities of graphene, a material harder than a diamond and 200 times stronger than steel.

Kyorene GlovesThe Amazing Characteristics of Graphene

Graphene is a material made of carbon atoms with a lot of amazing characteristics. However, these characteristics weren’t actually realized until fairly recently. In 2004, in a technique called exfoliated graphene, scientists were able to isolate sheets of graphene and study them. These sheets showed them all the unusual characteristics of graphene, like extreme tensile strength and resistance to bacteria. We can harness these characteristics to create superior products by first creating graphene fibers through a process called wet spinning. Then, these fibers are mixed with other composites to make fiber-based materials used to make our products, such as Armor Guys' Kyorene® Gloves.

Graphene, and in turn these gloves and our other Kyorene® products, have the ability to protect from things such as UV to cuts. Starting off with UV protection. Due to the atomic structure, graphene fibers can reflect light.  This shields you from UV-A and UV-B light. Because of this ability, graphene yields a 500 Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF), the highest level of protection against UV rays that you can get.

Graphene also has impressive thermal conductivity and cold protection capabilities. The thermal conductivity of graphene is 130 GPa.  The fibers also absorb Far Infrared Radiation (FIR), allowing them to absorb body heat and maintain the temperature to prevent loss of heat energy and protect your hands against the cold.

And its superpowers don’t stop there. Due to the high strength of the material, graphene offers superior cut and abrasion resistance all while being elastic and flexible. Keeping your hands protected, without sacrificing extreme comfort and dexterity. Additionally, graphene has anti-bacterial and anti-mite properties, ensuring bacterial growth in the gloves in inhibited.  These gloves also help with balancing body odor – keeping your gloves and hands fresh.
